parts gone sideways
tall and proud
attest to times
of rolling ‘round
streets and highways
here to there
bound for where?
no matter no care
they rest in pieces
all anew
bound to things
they never knew

My work is a playful narrative of found objects, paint, and mark making. For the past number of years I have explored movement, translucency, and what I call evidence (wax rubbings of textures, letters, numbers, etc). I think of these narratives not so much as literal stories, rather they are wordless dialogues amongst historied objects with lines (drawn or physical) and paint serving as intermediaries. Nothing is ever not considered, particularly the surfaces Ichoose to work upon. The weight of various elements, along with their other characteristics, allows me to explore and exploit them....in the process creating uncomfortable, but to me perfectly logical, relationships between things.2019 The Arctic Circle Residency
